Al\u0103turi de\u00a0prietenul Andrei, am asistat ieri sear\u0103 la un spectacol de mentalism. Mentalizantul a\u00a0fost\u00a0Cristian Gog<\/strong>, iar eu am jucat rolul de fundamentalist sceptic mentalizat.<\/p>\n

Celor care citesc mai mult dec\u00e2t\u00a0g\u00e2ndesc\u00a0\u0219i vorbesc mai mult\u00a0dec\u00e2t\u00a0ascult\u0103,\u00a0numele de gog nu le va spune absolut nimic.<\/p>\n

Cei care au jucat Heroes of Might and Magic III<\/strong> (adic\u0103 eu) \u0219i s-au\u00a0r\u0103t\u0103cit prin castelul Inferno<\/strong> (tot eu), gogii \u0219i magogii (dup\u0103 upgrade ;))\u00a0erau ni\u0219te trupe de level 2 extrem de enervante care tr\u0103geau cu bile de foc, provoc\u00e2nd durere nu doar adversarilor, ci \u0219i trupelor tale. Oricum, dup\u0103 ce treceam la cerberii \u0219i archdevil\u0219ii\u00a0cu no enemy retaliation, sau la efre\u021bii cu fireshield care f\u0103ceau orice master genie s\u0103 intre \u00eenapoi \u00een lamp\u0103, ma(gogii)\u00a0deveneau doar o amintire. \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n

Pentru ini\u021bia\u021bii cabali\u0219ti (still me\u00a0:D), etimologia cuv\u00e2ntului Gog\u00a0se refer\u0103\u00a0la o leg\u0103tur\u0103 oarecum malefic\u0103 \u00eentre omul locului \u0219i locul omului … p\u00e2n\u0103 la sf\u00e2r\u0219itul timpului.<\/p>\n

And if you go,\u00a0keep your mind sharp and open, listen completely when the Gog or somebody else is talking and never, but never, think what you are going to say. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Just observe and when you come out from that ballroom be sure that you know everything that you just saw … and not only that.<\/p>\n

Almost every\u00a0mental (mathematical or magic) trick\u00a0has\u00a0three parts: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the first part\u00a0you’re\u00a0building \u201dThe Trust\u201d:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Gog shows you something ordinary:\u00a0a -fireball-, perhaps a little box,\u00a0maybe a deck of (big) cards,\u00a0a mirror,\u00a0a rope, even a gun.\u00a0Then, every single time, he asks you to inspect this -fireball-, in order to see if\u00a0it’s\u00a0round, hot, real, solid, normal, touchable, yada yada yada.\u00a0But then again, regardless of your observation,\u00a0it\u00a0surely isn’t. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The second\u00a0part\u00a0will be \u201dThe Twist\u201d:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Gog takes the\u00a0-fireball-, the \u201dordinary\u201d one,\u00a0and makes it look like doing something (extra)ordinary, unreal, inexplicable, mysterious and perplexing. <\/strong>Now, you\u00a0start\u00a0looking and searching (mentally) for the secret. Of course, unless you’re David Copperfield<\/a>,\u00a0you won’t find it, not because\u00a0you’re not really looking or searching, but because you don’t know where and how to do it. Your mind isn’t ready to think\u00a0for (and of) yourself, but for (and of) someone else: The Gog. Why ? Because you love to\u00a0be fooled, not just from time to time, but all the time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To make extraordinary even \u201dextraordinary-er\u201d, doing something magic isn’t enough. You have to go back in time … to restore the parity and the inexorable\u00a0justice of universe. <\/strong>Disappearing\u00a0may be cool, but\u00a0finding and bringing it back\u00a0is the real deal, where the Gog,\u00a0from the land of Magog can touch the past and the future in the same time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And exactly this is why every mental magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part\u00a0a real Gog\u00a0likes to call it \u201dThe Test of Time\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n
